Model answer - possibility to write in bold or italic

Hi,
I am using the page type "Model answer" to create an exercise where students have to write reference list entry for specific sources. Being able to write in italic or bold is essential.
Is there a way to add the option for students to format their text so that they can select some part of their answer to be put in bold or italic?
