Hi,

I'm new to the Xerte community and was looking to download some of the recipes as examples. Trying to following the pdf instructions however I'm not able to save as a zip file, despite the fact the instructions say right click to save. I've tried in IE8,Firefox and Chrome.

Any suggestions how I can save these recipes so I can import them?

many thanks

Alison

Hi Alison,

Sorry to hear that you are having problems. It is probably the instructions that are wrong...

I just tried the Mars one and it downloaded fine. I just had to left-click the link and it takes a few seconds, depending on your connection speed and then a zip should appear. I have attached that one here for you. Hmm it won't let me attach it... might be too big.

Can you give the others a try and report back with how you get on and have the instructions changed to reflect this...

Regards

John

Hi John,

Thanks for replying. Unfortunately I have no option to save as a zip file. If I right click on a xerte recipe I can save as html or all files. I've tried this on Win 7 and Win xp (both have 7-zip installed) without success. I'm just going to the xerte recipe page, is there another location to download as a zip file? I don't normally have this much hassle saving zip files.

Any other suggestions welcome.

Thanks
Alison

Hi Alison,

Apologies, I don't think I made it clear enough what I did...

I left clicked on the Mars one and when it opened I navigated through to page 6. On that page there are 2 download links, both vle.jisctechdis.ac.uk/xerte/export_139

I simply left clicked on one of the links and within a few seconds a zip download appeared in my browser downloads bar at the bottom...

Once it had finished downloading, I went to my xerte install, selected Workspace, presses the Properties button and chose the Import tab. I thing browsed to the zip file that just downloaded and after a few seconds the Mars LO was imported into my xerte install for me to edit.

Please try these instructions and see if you can manage to download..> I can't attach a zip here as i'm not a Moderator in this section of the Forum...

Regards,

John

Got it! I had only looked at the first few pages of each of the recipes so hadn't see the zip reference.

Thanks very much
