I have used Xerte to produce an on-line statistics package which is great.
However, we have recently upgraded to the latest version of Xerte, and I have found that the links I included in the earlier version to allow the user to move between pages within a project no longer work.
The link code that I used was in the form of:
<a href="asfunction:_level0.engine.navToPage,Page 2">Link to Page 2</a>
where I substituted the Page number for the title of the page to move to.
Are you able to tell me if there is a different form of code that I need to use in the most recent version of Xerte?
Your old links should still work but this is much easier and more reliable now. Right click in the relevant text box and select page link - you'll see a list of all your pages and those links will remain working even if you change the order of pages.
This right-click method of linking pages was working fine. However, after I while I found that it was placing exactly the same code (ie page reference) every time.
I have been linking Hotspot images to different Button Navigators. However each time, it places the reference "PG1352824887940", so that the link always takes the user to the same page instead of a different one each time.
Seems an odd bug! Any ideas greatly appreciate to get around this.
PS the same thing happens when trying to page link from a button navigator to quizzes - each navigator links to the same quiz each time! Is it something to do with button navigators? Does not seem to happen when linking to an embedded video.
