Creation of new users fails in management dialogue

Hi everybody,

I succesfully installed the most recent XOT version 2.0 (but, the readme.txt says 1.91??) on a public server, and so far, everything works fine. To prevent any misuse, I changed the authentification in auth_config.php from "guest" to "Db". Then, when I want to create a new user in the site administration, I always get the following error message:
Failed to add user: Error when adding user to the Db, do you have write permissions for MySQL?

The DB user has full access to the XOT database ("GRANT ALL ON xertedb.* TO ...'), thus insufficient rights cannot be cause of this error. I checked all relevant logs etc. but haven't found any error messages.

Any idea what is going wrong?

Can you let me know what verion you have exactly? (See version.txt)
There was a bug in the earlier 2.0 packages that prevented the user table to be created correctly.

It's the "xertetoolkits_2.0" which I downloaded this morning as zip from this site (last update 2013-05-15). The readme.txt says it's version 1.91, in the changelog file the last entry is "2013-05-15 14:07 ...".
I updated an older version I installed some days before (V 1.9 in the readme.txt) and replaced everything except the dirs USER-FILES, error_logs & import and the files database.php and auth_config.php.
I checked logging in the MySQL server and indeed, there is no table "users" in the XOT database (?).

I guess it would be recommended to install everything from scratch with a new fresh database, right?

No, upgrading should work fine.
Can you try to login first (not going to management.php, but the normal website), and just enter a bogus login name and a bogus password.

Is the user table created now?

Are you able to add a table yourself, if I give you the SQL statement?

Bingo!
Login with a fake user fixed the problem: the user table exists now and I can add users in the administration.
