Hello Xerte Community,

I'm experiencing an issue with the lightbox feature in the Xerte bootstrap template and hoping someone can help with a solution or workaround.

Problem description:
When I enable the lightbox feature for images in my Xerte project, clicking on an image to open the lightbox causes the page to automatically scroll back to the top. After closing the lightbox, users have to scroll back down to find where they were on the page, which creates a poor user experience.

Question:
Has anyone else encountered this issue? Is there a known fix or recommended approach? I'm unable to modify the core Xerte files directly (requires IT approval), so I'm looking for either:
- A project-level JavaScript/CSS workaround that works
- Guidance on which core file changes would fix this properly (so I can request the change from IT)
- Whether this is a known bug that might be addressed in a future update

I might be misunderstanding what you mean here but if I understand correctly I can't replicate what you describe.

Can you provide a link to your project or a copy/demo of what you describe and where it happens?

If you view our release notes and for example scroll down to the bootstrap bugs and enhancements section xot.xerte.org.uk/play_81#v314section4 and click the screenshot there does the same thing happen?
If it does try force refresh (Ctrl + F5) or clearing offline files in your browser.
If it doesn't but does in your project then we'll need a link or more info.

thanks for the link. At quick glance I can see what you describe but I can't see why. The only thing I did notice was that your second page has a page ID of #module-setup and it's possible that the hyphen could be causing a problem so you could try removing that and let us know if that made a difference?

Do you get the same issue with other projects too and if so all projects or just some?

If just this project or just some projects do they have any customisations in common?

I can probably have another look tomorrow but can you share a copy of that resource with my Cardiff account and I'll see if I can test and spot anything without any risk.

Thanks for the pointers. I’ve tracked down the issue - it turned out to be caused by the smooth scroll behaviour in the theme. I’ve applied a fix on my end and everything is working properly now.

thanks for the update - I was wondering if you had explored further.
Glad you found the issue and for anyone else reading this thread - I'm assuming the reference to "smooth scroll behaviour in the theme" is custom code in the theme you are using rather than a bundled theme in Xerte. No need to reply unless that's not the case.
