Bootstrap Get Deployment export not playing

Hi everyone,

I have four bootstrap templates for a course that the instructors now want to make available to the students after the course. No problem I thought, I'll use Get Deployment Zip as the text says: "Export for deployment. Contains only the files required for importing into a vle, sharing via CD or USB etc or importing into another XOT install:" However, that didn't work, I get a white browser tab (see attachment)

Steps taken
1. Project Properties - Export - Get Deployment Zip.
2. Extract zip file to a folder in My Documents
3. Click on index.htm to launch bootstrap

Note:

• Used Chrome and MS Edge, no difference
  
• No blockers appearing in the web browsers
  
• Size of bootstraps I'm working with range from 89-95MB
  
• Our workaround at the moment is to enable the Print button for each bootstrap
  {li}Xerte version: 3.8 (git v3.8.5-1-gd10141c1)

Anyone else get this? Have you resolved it?

I have the same problem, or very similar, with a Bootstrap Template project.
I'm running on a local XAMPP server with a new install of XOT 3.11 (wasn't an upgraded from a previous version).
The project works without issues when I preview it on localhost. I don't see any error messages when I publish the project or when I export the deployment zip.
After extracting the deployment zip and opening index.htm in Chrome, the only thing displayed on the page is %ADDTHISSCRIPT% in what should be the footer of the first page.
There are a few other errors displayed in the browser console (see attached).
Any suggestions where I go from here are most welcome.

the original post here is very old and looks like it went unanswered but my reply here is relevant to that original post and the post from yesterday....

Firstly whether XOT template or Bootstrap template the deployment export is meant for deployment on a webserver not for extracting and viewing via a local HDD/USB/CD/DVD etc.
Historically (years ago) deployment export did work when extracted and viewed via some browsers e.g. Firefox would work and IE would prompt but Chrome might not work however as all of the browsers have tightened security they prevent dynamic loading of local files and so prevent deployment export working unless on a web server.
So currently to have any chance of working on HDD/USB/CD/DVD the offline export is needed which is only available with the XOT template. This is still not guaranteed to work on all configurations and at the moment in another thread here it was reported that videos were not playing via offline export from 3.11x. That's something we need to look into and is probably due to changes made in 3.11 to standardise the video code which is working well but not in offline export.
In reality offline use has typically been a specialised and unique requirement and often the reports of it not working has been because a users has simply been exploring the export functionality but without a specific need to use projects offline. Given that so many resources are created with embedded content and/or external links and/or less frequent use of CD/DVD/USB further reduces the real world use of offline export.
In summary use offline export of XOT projects if you really do need offline access but currently video may not play until a future update. Also unfortunately offline export is not available for Bootstrap projects.
