Importing Files

Hi,

I'm trying to import an archived Xerte LO into my workspace. I click on the workspace icon, navigate to the archive.zip, give the imported LO a name and click on upload. However, I simply get a "File Transfer Failed" error message.

Is this a permissions issue, or do I need to make any changes in the management area?

Do any other projects import? Is this an xot template archive or a bootstrap archive?
In my experience there's usually one of three causes of the import issue you describe:

1. Permissions on the import folder
2. Issues around file upload limits or missing server components
3. In some cases very old format or incorrect format of the archive

Try a new small and simple project export then import back in. That should rule out file size and incorrect format and probably indicate permissions on the import folder as the cause.

Ask whoever looks after your installation to investigate and check the error logs etc.
