Error when importing .mp4 files

I've tried importing an .mp4 file (5Mb) for use in the video page. When I select it to import it I get a message saying
error (Array = 1)

I have a similar problem with a larger file (10Mb), that time the error was:
Invalid backend response, Data is not JSON.

I'm running on a local XAMPP server, any ideas what I could try to get this to work? I have no problem with audio files or other file types.

Did you change the default upload limits of XAMPP?

You can change the upload limits (which are determined by php server settings, not Xerte) in the php.ini file.

in XAMPP you can fins this file in the php folder of your xampp installation.

The values you want to change are:
Change the number to the largest file you want to be able to upload.

I've changed it to:
post_max_size = 10M
upload_max_filesize = 10M

There were two php.ini files that were similar or the same so I made the change in both.

I'm still getting the error, anything else I can try? I did try uploading a smaller .mp4 of 1.5 Mb and that worked fine so it does look like a filesize issue.

Did you restart the apache webserver after the changes?

You can check the values that are used by opening

in a browser.
