I installed today the xerte 3.1 on ubuntu 12.04.
No errors at installation.
When I pressed play or publish (after of the XOT creation) appears a window:

Please inform me how to fix the problem.

The class is defined in the upload.php file itself (line 89.)

Could you please chack whether SimpleXMLElement is enabled in your php environment?

What happens if you execute php /var/www/html/xerte/editor/upload.php in a terminal on the Ubuntu machine?

Can you tell me where you got the zip that you installed? Was it from this site "Resources" or was it from Github?

That's a strange error given that SimpleXML looks to be enabled and ExSimpleXMLElement is actually declared in the upload.php file...

Can you download the zip again and re-copy that /editor/upload.php file again and try the upload again?
