warnings on login page after update to v3.1

My suggestion was to download the 3.1 zip from here on the community site not the zip from github.
Try that and let us know.

BTW with 3.1 the auth_config needs to be replaced and then auth configured via management. See the 3.1 upgrade guide for more info.

Sorry I misread that, I actually downloaded from here originally. Could you link to the 3.1 upgrade guide? I didn't think there was one, I was working off the old upgrade guide in the documentation folder. I'll try again and follow the clean install instructions this time.

It's in the documentation folder in the download.
The main change is step 5 and for that to work step 4:

Step 4. Important step: Now visit //yourinstall/upgrade.php This will copy any older ldap details from the sitedetails table to the ldap table as well as setting other new default values including enabling authentication to be set via management.

Step 5. Change from guest to ldap or one of the other authentication options via //yourinstalladdress/management.php and the Authentication Settings options.

I reinstalled 3.1 downloaded from here and followed your instructions (thanks). I'm still getting the errors though and am unable to edit some projects. The only customization I have made is adding the TextHelp SpeechStream toolbar code to the rloObject.html file however I got the errors before doing this so I can't see this causing the problem. Is it possible the errors are not related to the inability to edit some projects? Are there any known issues with certain pagetypes created in V2.1 when upgraded to V3.1? I could live with the errors for the moment but being unable to update some projects is a problem.

Yes, there could be some issues. Specifically with the use of & in the LO.

Some of that was accepted by the old editor, but not the new. Do you have an XMl validator?
You can also use a service like www.xmlvalidation.com/

Note the teplate_id of the LO you cannot edit. (This is the number after template_id= in the url that is used to launch the editor, or the preview)

Go into the installation, in USER-FILES there is a folder that starts with that number. in that folder download the preview.xml file and check it with a validator. Let us know if there are any issues.

I think you are on to something here. As you suggested I validated the preview.xml file of one of the LO that is not allowing me to edit and it found no errors. But that got me thinking. When I was creating these in Xerte 2.1 I used some basic html tags like <p></p> <li></li> etc. Could this be causing the problem? I removed all the formatting from the preview and data xml files and still no luck. See attached, I might mean something to you
