I'll start by apologising for my question... but I'm new to all of this. I want to host Xerte with a 3rd party web host. I cant seem to find any that offer XAMPP hosting. Does anyone know of somewhere that does, or would LAMP work ok?

LAMP would be fine.
I only employ LAMP myself. Just choose the full install.

Great, thanks for that. Also, do any users have any experience of setting Xerte up within a wider content management system? Are there any that integrate particularly well with Xerte? The functions I want to have in particular are being able to define organisations who can be given access to particular training courses; but then approving individuals within those organisations for access to particular courses.

Kind regards

James

Moodle comes to mind. I don't know Moodle too well, but it integrates well with Xerte (or better: Xerte integrates well with Moodle), i.e. you can use Moodle user management to give access to Xerte (to author, i.e. not directly an answer to the question you asked I know).

And, if you export the Xerte LO's as SCORM packages and import them in Moodle, the results of the quiz and MCQ end up in the grade book of Moodle).

But that is just one of the possibillities.

Xot LO's are not difficult to integrate.
