Installation successful, can't do anything

Help! I registered and managed to get everything installed, but I can't seem to add a new project. I simply don't have anything appearing in the ‘project templates’ box, there are no 'create' buttons. I can add a new folder, but not a project. See attached picture for details.

I can't import a project either - I don't even have the option in the folder I created, and in the root folder when I try, I get the following message:

Status messages: The folder needs to writable.

What should I do to create my first project?

The import message suggests that the file permissions are not correct.

What is the OS and web serevr you try to install on?

I'm installing on local host, using XAMPP. Using Windows 10.

Did you install "C:\Program File" or in the recommended location c:\xampp?

I just went with recommended location

And just out of curiousity: which was that?
