Hello,
Got Xerte 3.0 installed on our server and it appears to be working in that we can create new projects and publish, etc. but when accessing Xerte one is automatically logged in as a guest user and clicking the "logout" button has no effect, which also probably explains why none of the site administration options are available. Neither is there any way to import archived projects (from Xerte 2.0). How do we get to a login page to log on as administrators and create new user accounts.
What are we missing here?
cheers
Kalli

Have a look at this topic: xerte.org.uk/index.php?option=com_kunena...tid=4&id=327&lang=en
You have to edit auth_config.php and uncomment the authentication method of your choice.

Hi there, I have just installed Xerte and have similar issues.

I've uncommented the DB authentication but this seems to do very little. I cannot see any way to move forwards with this. I have created a project but cannot edit the pages.

Are there any clues, documentation etc?

Thanks

Dave

Have a look at the official installation guide. It's a bit hidden but on github you can find it: github.com/thexerteproject/xerteonlineto...nstallationGuide.pdf
Find the section: "Authentication in Xerte online Toolkits"

Thanks for that but I still end up with no way to edit the project pages as per the image above.

Any clues?

Nudge. Coming back to this 16 months later and the same is happening with a fresh install of version 3.4

Can anyone advise please?

Resolved thanks to Vladislav. Editing out the line: #Options -Indexes
in the .htaccess file in /USER-FILES/ has solved this.

Cheers
