Hi folks,
I thought I had this trouble fixed but did not.
I can't get any media files to upload. I get the message that the upload is successful and it shows the file info in the image box but when I try to preview I get a message "You must select media before you preview it" There are no media files uploading to the USER_FILES folder
- upload_max_filesize (2M)
- post_max_size (8M)
A fresh install of XOT 2.0 using Xampp on Win Vista and choosing either the Xampp or Full Setup option seemed to load correctly with one difference. The lower pod links do not work unless I use the Full Install option.
Any suggestions?
Thx
Mark

Can you check what size the file is you tried to upload?
Your php.ini has (as you posted) a max of 2MB files for upload files. This is quite small, especially if you want to have video files embedded in your project.
Find the upload_max_filesize entry in php.ini and change it to 50MB or even 100MB. Also the post_max_size is a bit low, give it some 25-50MB too.

Hi Rob,
I changed the upload_max_filesize and post_max size as you suggested. It didn't seem to have any effect. After some troubleshooting here's what I found.
1) In the USER_FILES folder the media folder is not created when I create a new project. If I create a media folder manually the function seems to work as expected.
2) When I delete a project from the project page list it does not remove it from the USER_FILES folder. There is nothing in the recycle list to delete.
All else seems to function properly. Any suggestions?
Thanks for your help!

Mark,

This sounds like permission issues. In what folder did you install XAMPP?
What is in <xot folder>\modules\xerte\templates\Nottingham? There should be an empty media folder.

If you create a new LO, what is exactly generated in USER_FILES?

Hi Tom,
I installed XAMPP in the root c:\Xampp and installed XOT in the htdoc folder.
c:\xampp\htdocs\<myfolder>\(all the XOT files). the files were unzipped into another folder then copy/paste into <my folder> as per page 17 of the instruction guide. (April 2013). Did I misunderstand this process?

The <xot folder>\modules\xerte\templates\Nottingham folder contains two files <data.xml> and <Nottingham.info> only. There is no <media> folder.

The new LO contains two files, <data.xml> and <preview.xml>

FYI...
Not sure if this has anything to do with this problem but... I also had to use the full install choice since I had an existing Xampp installed. If I installed using the Xampp choice, the links at the bottom of the screen and export functions didn't work.
