Student Collaborative Project Presentation was created by sarahpeacock28
Hi All,

I recently worked with two final year students (University of Sheffield - East Asian Studies Dept) to create some learning resources using Xerte (amongst other tools)for Korean Languages. We're really pleased with the way the resources have turned out and are presenting at TELfest (University of Sheffield's Tech Enhanced Learning Festival on 3rd July (the focus is on students as co-creators).

Firstly, would anyone be interested in what we produced? Should we share it on here? Secondly - I wondered if anyone had any suggestions for points our attendees might find useful/interesting - particularly in relation to students as co-creators where Xerte is concerned?

Thanks!
Sarah (Learning Tech)

Hi Sarah
that sounds really good and yes please do share relevant links here. We've been working on a new version of the Xerte community site for quite a wile now and a whole section of that will be aimed at making it easier to find and share examples but it's not quite ready for launch yet so sharing via these forums is as good a place as any for now. There have been a number of student creation and co-creation projects with Xerte over the years many of which were documented as case studies by the various JISC RSC's on behalf of the organisations themselves but a fair number of those sites and links are broken now. I used to bookmark case studies and example on my scoop.it page and a direct link to page 2 where most of the older case study links are is www.scoop.it/topic/xerte?page=2 but I don't know how many of those links are still available and don't have time to check right now.

Good luck with your presentation at TELfest.

I am very interested in the cocreation part. We are trying to start something like this, and I am investigating the integratiojn of hypothes.is in Xerte pages.

Holy cow!

Hi Sarah,

Sounds great!
For the time being (while we are waiting on the new website) we can also add your object to the showcases part on the old website. We are currently working on the new website en we hope this will be ready soon...

Bye,

Hypothes.is is a great tool for students to annotate and discuss (in a group with fellow students) a Xerte module. Just put <script src=" hypothes.is/embed.js " async>
</script> into the first textfield of your module.
When you run the module, just dubbelclick with your mouse anywhere in the text: then you can annotate the module.

Holy cow!

Hi all
Sarah is your session at TELfest going to be part of the live stream?

JaapJan your paste of the script required has somehow removed the https:// part so for anyone else reading this thread it should be:
Code:
<script src="https://hypothes.is/embed.js" async> </script>

But also I'm not a big fan of having script hidden away in the source view in Xerte so another way to include the hypothes.is script is to add a script box to your LO and use the following:
Code:
$.getScript("https://hypothes.is/embed.js");
