Xerte has different authentication modules, and the default is 'Guest'. I don't know what the most appropriate authentication would be in your situation. See also chapter 'Authentication in Xerte Online Toolkits' of the ToolkitsnstallationGuide.

I would suggest you try Db first:
1. Edit <root of instal/auth_config.php and comment out the guset line, and uncomment the line with Db
2. Go to management.php and Choose the 'Users'tab.

There you can manage user accounts.

To add users, see step 2. of my answer.

The users of Xerte are Content authors (probably the teachers) there are no specific teachers and/or students. If you need that, then you would author the Learning Object in Xerte and then export it and load it into an LMS.

Yes you can. There is a seperate section in the manual about that.

1. Prefably install Xerte in a subfolder of you Moodle installation
2. Setup the integration path in management.php

This should be the full path (on the server) to your moodle config.php path

3. Choose Moodle as the authenticatioon method in auth_config.php
