Hi all

Our Xerte content is hosted on our intranet and works fine. However, when viewed over the VPN we lose the shell with the navigation / ToC buttons.
On viewing LO frame source, we've established that this is the culprit: c328740.ssl.cf1.rackcdn.com/mathjax/late...ML-AM_HTMLorMML-full
We basically need to host this locally in order for Xerte to display properly both on campus and via VPN.

Is there a way we can amend this and if so where?

Many thanks
Vicky

Hmmm... That is not the easiest one. This is the MathJax javascript functionality.

Why is this libarary specifically causing issues? Because of the https? I would like to have the technical reason, to give you the most appropriate solution.

Possible venues:
1. Use the http based version of MathJax (won't work if the LO is hosted on a https website)
2. Host MathJax locally (see www.mathjax.org)
3. Remove MathJax support (not recommended, requires the most customisation)

For 1. and 2. you need to change modules/xerte/player_html5/rloObject.htm
For 3, you also have to remove all the references to MathJax

Hi Tom,

I patched the xenith.js file recently to stop MathJax blocking the LO from loading when offline or restricted internet access so that might work...

Sorry, not at a computer just now to be able to email it to try. Are you able?

John

Thanks both of you.

I'm sure it was working until recently but I don't regularly look via VPN so I'm not certain when things changed or if I'm mistaken.
So, your comment is interesting, Tom

I'm passing these on to my far more technical colleague.
Thanks

I can, but the patch is not complete yet. Some models use the same call (such as quiz)

But Vicky, that would be the 3rd option, but then nicely pacakged in the distribution itself. That would be best!

I'll work on it.
