Be aware that Xerte Online Toolkits needs to be installed on a server and so the installation requires technical skills.

Once it is installed people without technical skills can use it very effectively.

Depending on who you are, you should find useful information on getting started with Xerte Online Toolkits on our Getting started page.

For people with technical skills, Xerte can be extended and developed in a number of ways. You can create components to extend Xerte's functionality with all the capabilities of Flash, and create wizards to allow subject matter experts to create robust content without writing any code. You can also plug tools into the Xerte interface to extend Xerte's authoring functionality. Technically skilled developers may also be interested in downloading the Desktop version of Xerte from the software downloads page (see side menu Software Downloads).
