Project Tree and Tools
These are located in the left-hand pane when you are editing a project. They enable you to;
- have a visual overview of the project
- move quickly from one part of the project to another
- add new pages
- import pages from other projects in your Workspace
- re-order pages, or items within a page (e.g. questions, answers, buttons)
- duplicate pages and items
- delete pages and items.
Project Tree
When you start a new project, you will probably only see the Project Settings. You will need to give the project a title, which can be different to the project name that you entered, and which is displayed in your Workspace.
- The Project Name is there to help you and other others identify and organise projects, and is not displayed in the learner view. You can only use letters and numbers in a project name
- The Project Title is by default displayed to learners in the project header above each page title. You can use all the keyboard characters in a Project Title, including Font Awesome icons (you may have to choose a different font colour for FA icons to display well).
The Project Tree has a collapsible/expandable format to aid navigation. When you add items to a page (e.g. questions, answers, hotspots, tabs) these are visible in the Tree, but you can collapse all items in the page, or items within a group, by using the +/- icons in the tree. For example, if everything is collapsed on a Quiz page, you only see the Page Title. If you expand the Page Title, you see all the questions, and if you expand a question, you see all the answer options for that question.
New in 3.14, there is also an Expand Pages check box, at the foot of the Project Tree which allows all pages to be collapsed or expanded.
Pages can be dragged to different positions in a project, and items can be dragged to different positions within the page. For Quiz this means you can re-order the questions (if you want the questions to be presented in a specific sequence), and you can also drag answer options into a different order within a question.

 | Insert | Here you add pages that you want to create from scratch. When you click on the Insert icon, this brings down a cascading pop-up, from which you choose the page category, then the page type, and finally the page location in the project. If you have already added pages, the the location (Before, After, At end) is relative to the page you are on; this page is highlighted in the Project Tree. New in 3.14 You can also insert Chapters here; Chapters provide a way to organise lengthier projects logically. |
 | Import pages | This enables you to import pages from other projects in your installation. To do this you need to know: which project the page is in; which folder the project is in; the page title. You can import multiple pages from a project; the pages are displayed as a list with tick boxes, and you tick all the pages you want. Imported pages appear at the bottom of the Project Tree, but can then be dragged to any position in the project. New in 3.14 - you can also import pages from projects in shared folders. |
 | Duplicate | Highlight a page or item you want to duplicate, click on Duplicate, and a copy of the page/item will appear just below the original; it will have the same page or item title, so you will need to edit this to avoid confusion. You can drag a duplicated page or item to a new position if you wish. |
 | Delete | Highlight the page or item that you want to delete and click on the icon. A pop-up will appear asking you to confirm your deletion. Once you delete something, it cannot be restored. |
