Interactivity > Modify Exercise

A page that presents some text that can be edited by the learner, according to the instructions. A feedback button allows a model answer to be be displayed, against which learners can compare their modified text.

Core Properties

Property Description Type Additional information
Page Title Text that appears in header of published page Text
Instruction Content that appears at the top of the page Text+ (Toolbar) Use this to give the context or instructions for the task. Other content (e.g. images, audio, video) can be embedded here.
Initial Text The text that you want the learner to modify Text This text cannot be edited, but may be necessary if you want the learner to have the original version visible while completing the task. If you leave this box empty, the Initial Text box is not displayed.
Answer Prompt Another copy of the text you want the learner to modify Text This is the text that the learner edits.
Model Answer: Text The model answer that you want the learner to compare with their modified text Text You can format this text if you want to, but you will need to untick the box below if you want the formatting to be displayed.
Model Answer: Display as Plain Text Untick if you want formatting of the Model Answer to be displayed Tick box

Tracking Score Weight Allows the task on the page to be weighted relative to other scored pages in the project. Text See the Tracking and Weighting page for more information on weighting.

Answer Field Hidden Aria-Label Hidden label for screen reader so that the text entry is labelled and spoken to the user. Text There is a Tooltip for this.

Further information

The text in the Initial Text, Answer Prompt and Model Answer fields in the Editor cannot be formatted.
