====== Chapters ====== Chapters provide a means for a large learning object to be divided into small units, in the same way that chapters function for a printed book. They are added from the drop-down menu that you use to add pages to a project. Pages can be added within chapters, and can also be dragged from one chapter to another in the Project Tree. Chapters can also be set as markers in the **[[progressbar|Progress Bar,]]** so that learners can see which chapters they have completed. This is useful when they are completing a learning object over several sessions, or are using the learning object as a resource to refer back to. Learners can also move from chapter to chapter using either the Progress Bar or the Table of Contents. ===== Screenshot ===== This screenshot shows a learning object with three chapters, with the Table of Contents in a lightbox. Normally learners would not use both the Progress Bar and the Table of Contents to navigate through a learning object. The learner is looking at the 3rd page of Chapter 1. {{ :playground:chapters_1.png?direct&600 |}} ===== Editor interface ===== This screenshot shows the same project from the author's perspective {{ :playground:chapters_2.png?direct&600 |}} ===== Core Properties ===== ^ Property ^ Description ^ Type ^ Additional information ^ | Chapter Title | This text is displayed in the Project Tree, for the author, and in the Table of Conents, for the learner. | Text | | | Include in Header | This inserts the Chapter Title in the header, along with the relevant Page Title in the format {Chapter Title}:{Page Title} | Tick box | | ===== Optional Properties ===== === Page-specific === ^ Property ^ Sub-property ^ Description ^ Type ^ Additional information ^ | Chapter ID || Creates a link directly to this chapter by adding #yourChapterID to the end of the project URL.
