How exactly did you do the re-installation on Linux? I am using Ubuntu 16.04 server at school and experiencing the exact same problem. I had actually done the re-install after deleting the database in phpMyAdmin and one php file in xerte folder after I could not figure out the password I had setup for management admin. I think that the re-installation may have gone wrong somewhere.

How do I fix this now?
Excited about using XOT for developing and updating school local web server.

Hmm...

1. deleting the database deletes the admin password as well.
2. deleting the database makes your LO's in USER-FILES unreachable, and reinstalling the database, by deleting database.php will eventually overwrite all present LO's

What do you have and what are you trying to accomplish, so we can try to give you advise as how to continue.

Hi Tom
I am busy setting up a school local web server on Ubuntu 16.04 system and I am using AMPPS and chose Xerte Online Toolkit because I think it is a suitable platform. There has not been any projects created on the platform except for those that I have exported earlier from my home PC (Windows 8.1 running AMPPS). After lengthy battle with linux at school I managed to install AMPPS and then XOT but because I had forgotten the admin password during installation (in fact I did not forget but the '@' symbol was used as '%40', I ended up having to re-install XOT after deleting the database using phpMyAdmin and the database.php file.

After this reinstall I cannot edit a created project or imported project. The imported project does not even display on the front-end or be previewed in the back-end. When I try to created a project or edit an imported one, I get a blank window. I do not know if the problem would not have resulted if I had not re-installed because I never logged as I had "forgotten" the admin password.
